Responding to climate change requires the promotion of market mechanism, promoting energy conservation and emission reduction requires the support of financial means, and building a beautiful China requires the joint participation of emission enterprises, financial institutions and other stakeholders. The Beijing Green Finance Association established in early 2011 can be said to be born at the right time.

Beijing Green Finance Association is jointly founded by Beijing Environment Exchange, five major Chinese carbon emission enterprises such as power group, Shenhua Group and CNOOC, mainstream financial institutions such as China Construction Bank and Industrial Bank, and well-known carbon asset management companies at home and abroad such as Yike and Huaneng carbon assets company. As the first industry organization in China‘s carbon emission reduction industry, Beijing Green Finance Association will accumulate industry strength, build a communication bridge between the government and the market, a cooperation platform between enterprises and financial institutions, and actively participate in the pilot carbon trading in Beijing and the construction of China‘s carbon trading market, Promote Beijing to become a leading carbon finance innovation base in China and an internationally influential carbon pricing center.

Beijing Green Finance Association will provide a platform for members to exchange business practice and experience, provide decision-making consulting services for the government, and strive to become the most influential peer organization in the carbon reduction ranking industry in China, mainly through special research, decision-making consultation, education and training and exchange activities. We believe that under the leadership of relevant national ministries and commissions and relevant departments of Beijing municipal government and with the support of member units, Beijing Green Finance Association will make greater contributions to China‘s green finance and ecological civilization construction.
